Pastoralist families, local administration officers, community leaders and partners gathered under the acacia trees for a community event organised by IPDR with Brooke East Africa. Speakers highlighted the vital role of working donkeys in Turkana households and the importance of protecting and caring for them.
The event also introduced a donkey welfare call centre and digital tools that help owners report theft and seek veterinary support, and included presentations, songs and awards.
